FAQ

Find answers to commonly asked questions about our carbon fiber fabrics, ordering, and technical support.

The “K” number refers to the number of individual filaments in each carbon fiber tow — 1K means 1,000 filaments, 3K means 3,000, and 12K means 12,000.

1K produces the finest, lightest weave (90–120 gsm), ideal for cosmetic parts, drone components, and decorative applications. It commands a higher price due to finer manufacturing tolerances.

3K is the industry standard, offering the best balance of handling, appearance, and cost. Fabrics range from 200–280 gsm and are used extensively in motorsports, bicycle frames, and consumer electronics.

12K offers the lowest cost per kilogram with heavier fabrics (400–600 gsm), making it the preferred choice for larger structural applications like marine hulls and wind turbine blades.

Plain weave (1×1) has the tightest interlacing — each warp yarn goes over one weft yarn, then under the next. It offers the best dimensional stability and is commonly used in structural and OEM applications.

Twill weave (2×2, 4×4) features a diagonal pattern where each yarn passes over two or more opposing yarns before interlacing. It provides better drape and conformability, making it ideal for curved parts. 2×2 twill is the most popular choice for visible carbon fiber parts.

Jacquard weave allows for custom patterns — including honeycomb, lightning, and cube designs. These are used where aesthetic impact is the priority.

For most general composite work, we recommend starting with 3K 200g or 240g 2×2 twill.

Fabric weight, measured in grams per square meter (gsm), determines how much material you get per layer:

Lightweight (90–120 gsm): Best for surface finishing and weight-critical parts like small drones. Conforms easily to tight radii.

Medium weight (200–280 gsm): The workhorse range for automotive parts, bicycle frames, and general composite structures.

Heavyweight (400–600 gsm): Accelerates thickness buildup for larger parts. Best for flat or gently curved surfaces.

A practical rule of thumb: divide your target part thickness (mm) by 0.25 to estimate the number of layers needed. Contact us for specific project recommendations.

Yes. We understand that evaluating fabric quality, weave pattern, and compatibility with your resin system is important before committing to larger quantities. Sample swatches are available for most of our carbon fiber fabrics.

To request samples, please contact our team with the specific product SKUs, tow sizes, or weave patterns you would like to evaluate. Include your shipping address and project details so we can recommend the most suitable options. Sample availability and lead times vary by product.

We ship worldwide using major international carriers including FedEx, DHL, UPS, and EMS:

Standard shipping: Typically 7–15 business days for most international destinations.
Express shipping: 3–7 business days via FedEx/DHL priority services.
Domestic (China): 2–5 business days.

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days after payment confirmation. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. For detailed rates, refer to our Shipping Policy.

Yes, we can help identify and match the fabric you need. To do this accurately, we need:

1. Count the strands per inch in both warp and weft directions. For example, 13 strands per inch in both directions indicates a 13×13 construction.
2. Determine the weave pattern — plain (checkerboard), 2×2 twill (diagonal zig-zag), or another pattern.
3. Measure the fabric weight if possible.

Send these details along with a clear photo to our team via email or WhatsApp, and we will recommend the closest matching product.

We accept the following payment methods:

PayPal: Available for most international orders.
Wire Transfer (T/T): Available for bulk orders and B2B transactions.

All transactions are processed in USD. Prices displayed do not include applicable customs duties, taxes, or import fees, which are the responsibility of the buyer. For wholesale pricing, please reach out to our sales team directly.
